What's new?
New Android application¶
We published a modernized OneMeter app in Google Play. See How to start?
New app outlook
The previous application will continue to be available under OneMeter Lite
name and 0.4.XX
version (or similar) for some time, however it may be not actively supported. We encourage you to try the new application (version 1.2.0
or newer), described in more details below.
Features¶
App modernization (Android)¶
This version modernizes the functions of the Android application and introduces many new functions to the iOS application so that the set of functions is the same for both platforms.
App features
- device dashboard & settings views
- modernized reading history synchronization
- configurable device operating parameters (OneMeter firmware 0.24.0 or newer)
- Wi-Fi gateway setup & list (MG3 gateway only, for now)
- cancellable time-consuming device operations (for example synchronization) with option to retry
- device status sheet (on tap device status bar)
- nearby gateways sheet (in device settings view)
- device list pagination (infinite scroll, pull down to refresh or search)
- load the app into device view for single device installed (customizable in app settings)
- firmware update option for installed devices (when a new firmware is available)
- dismissible floating action button (in device view)
- option to specify location and address of the installation
- more robust connectivity and app permission checks
- enhanced live connection with cloud (for data refresh)
- additional manuals and contact information
- enhanced diagnostics
Gate mode only when app is running¶
The previous Android could run as Gate Mode in the background, which could be active even when the app was not running. Due to additional restrictions of the recent Android versions related to background mode, as well as the inability to implement this function on iOS, the Gate Mode will only work while the application is running.
If you want the new data to be automatically forwarded to cloud, check: OneMeter Gateway.
Data accuracy configuration¶
From now on, you can set data accuracy for newly installed devices.
The configuration selected by the user will be used by the device if possible and depending on service type.
More information: Accuracy.
Detection of reading value overflow¶
The device will signal when the most important reading values are overflowed (do not fit within the device data structure).
State | Description |
---|---|
Value overflow | Some data from the last reading may have exceeded the maximum values allowed by the device. Ask your electrician about the use of so-called transformers and apply a multiplier to avoid this inconvenience. |
More information: Accuracy · Device status.
Simplified failed readout count¶
Previously, Failed readouts count could be confusing because it was related to the details of the communication protocol (number of failed readout attempts on the first / second message). We replaced it so that it is easy to understand. It currently means the number of failed reads since restart (e.g. battery change), so it is simply the opposite of the value Succeeded readouts.
