Advertising mode

In this mode the device advertises current measurement values read from the meter (as well as additional information needed for further data processing) to Bluetooth devices within its range. If there is a OneMeter Gateway or phone with gateway mode enabled in the vicinity, the data will reach the cloud and be available to you in a few seconds.

After performing a readout, the data is refreshed. Then the device advertises readouts in portions (a couple of OBIS codes per packet). If a new gateway is within its range, the device will redo advertising of some packets which may have been received by other gateway already.

After you replace the battery, you have to synchronize the device and wait for the next readout in order to see a new data on cloud.

Beware the range of advertising is greater than the range of data communication in connection with the phone.

Device state

In order to inform you about events which may require your attention, the device advertises its state. You may receive a push notification in mobile app or the cloud depending on the severity of the issue. The description what happened may differ from the one below.

state description
readout failed last readout from the meter failed.
low battery voltage the battery is about to dying - replace it soon to let the device do next readouts.
synchronization needed the device requires a synchronization in order to continue reading the meter.
device on the wrong meter the device has read data out the other meter than it was installed on. Move it back to the original meter or reinstall the device on the new meter.
🟡 Blink yellow slow Last readout failed. Make sure the device is correctly placed on the meter.
🔴 Blink red slow Low battery voltage, synchronization needed or device on the wrong meter.

Before firmware 0.20.0 the device used to communicate an issue with red color only.

Do not try to read data from the other meter you installed device on.

In case your operator replaces a meter with another one or you want to move your device to other meter, uninstall the device first.
